Settling in.

So our little family is settling in nicely. Orion seems more comfortable wondering around the house. He is currently exploring what his domain is.

Edgar has embraced his roll as older brother. He follows Orion, making sure he stays out of trouble. The other day I swear Edgar traded his bed with Napoleon so he could sleep closer to Orion.
Since Orion is still young I am trying very hard to train him to be gentle when climbing on furniture and shelves. Is it just my home, or do cats seem to want to destroy all objects on high surfaces? Specifically, any object that happens to be too close to where they just decided to be? Napoleon can't go a day without knocking something off of a table or a shelf. I thought I was making a breakthrough with Orion the other day. Sure enough, Napoleon was there to show him how it works around here. I do wish to one day buy glass drinkware. Until then, I'll take plastic and cats.
It has been a crazy couple of weeks getting used to a new furkid in the house. It seems Edgar's new bed has made him a bit itchy. I've made him an appointment with the vet just to make sure it's nothing serious. New pet bed is on order as we speak. I've also decided to take Orion for his initial check up. So at least they will be together. I feel bad still though, because vet visits always confuse Edgar. There happens to be a dog park in the same area. He is so blindly excited until we get to a certain intersection. Poor pup.
Napoleon - besides showing Orion how to knock things over - has continued to ignore the poor little guy. I should be happy they aren't fighting. I hope soon they can be buddies. Cats are just so opposite of dogs. I'm amazed how much they could care less about each other. As long as Napoleon has his food, treats and specific window spot, nothing and no one else need to exist.
