Vet Tricks and Halloween Treats!

Just as I thought, Edgar was ecstatic to be in the car until he realized the vet was the destination. I wonder what they think when they go there. Orion was an angel. He did just wonderfully during his check-up. No fear whatsoever. Edgar on the other hand was a little overdramatic. I compare it to someone being forced into a psych ward against their will. A five minute visit seemed like an hour with the nervous pup. We were given some allergy medicine and sent home.

Napoleon seems to love when he has the house to himself. You can tell he is quite the opposite of excited to see his brothers return. Instead of hanging with the family Napoleon went upstairs and took a nap. We are just too exhausting for him, apparently.

Edgar has been on the allergy medication for a few days now and it doesn’t seem to be working. Unfortunately, I had to take him back to the vet. This time alone. After the anxiety attack in the waiting room, he seemed to settle down in the exam room. The anxiety quickly returned as soon as he saw the thermometer pulled out though. I can’t say I don’t blame him. This time he was given a cream and unfortunately a cone. The dreaded cone of shame. I did not hear the end of it the whole car ride home.

When we returned home his brothers did not help with pretending the cone did not exist. They both immediately inspected him. He spent the rest of the day lounging shamefully on his new bed. Thankfully the cream worked and no more itchy pup. Which was a good thing because I was so excited to dress them all up this year for Halloween.

Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year. Last year Edgar went as a skeleton pup and Napoleon went as a lion. This year Edgar went as Frankenstein, Napoleon was a pumpkin and Orion was an astronaut. I think they all think I’m crazy but I don’t care because they are adorable. They also put on a great show for the trick or treaters.

I cannot wait for the rest of the holidays this year! I’m contemplating what to do for our holiday cards.
